Plank Road

Pacific Park B15, also known as Plank Road, is a 26-story 313-unit market-rate and affordable rental site set atop a 616-seat NYC public school in the Prospect Heights neighborhood. The site was near the original crossroads of the Brooklyn Flatbush Turnpike and Jamaica Bay Road, where there was a toll touse, where they collected payments to use the "plank roads," where wood planks were laid to provide cleaner passage.

The project is the only building within the 17 building Pacific Park development that is on a block with existing brownstones and church buildings.

Located on 664 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, the building is meant to function both as a gateway to the residential neighborhood’s dynamic new era and as an extension of brownstone Brooklyn.

Located on the fourth floor of the frontal building, the school playyard's facade relates to its context: large window openings maximize daylight for the classrooms, and mimic the civic buildings of the surrounding neighborhood.
