107th St Pier, Bobby Wagner Walk
Marvel, in collaboration with Stantec, is spearheading the relocation and reconstruction of the 107th St Pier and redesigning the Bobby Wagner Walk esplanade from 94th St to 124th St, addressing disrepair and enhancing connectivity along the Manhattan Greenway. Focused on community engagement, the project aims to revitalize connections to East Harlem, reconfigure the esplanade layout, and create a renewed waterfront space, meeting the neighborhood's need for open spaces and improved multimodal connectivity.

Canopy North view
From an urban design point of view, the redesign of both the pier and the promenade seeks to reconnect and improve existing connections to the neighboring community, through the reconfiguration of the esplanade layout, and programing within the new pier structure and along the length of the esplanade.
North Walkway view
The redesign seeks to reconnect the East Harlem community with its waterfront and to provide open space and multimodal connectivity corridor that the neighborhood needs.
Esplanade
A primary gathering space is located at the center of the pier, with secondary spaces and overlooks oriented to key views.
Overlook after sunset
The end of the pier offers unobstructed views towards the river. Other elements are oriented towards views of the city.
Movement Program Plan
The existing pier is separated from the flow of circulation along the esplanade, while the redesigned pier will be connected to the esplanade at two points, with an angled walk to draw users out over the water.
Aerial Movement
Two shade structures will shelter the different areas of the pier, supporting various uses. By carefully placing them, the pier is able to mitigate the impact on the marine habitats by reducing shade casted on water.
