Bronx Museum of the Arts South Wing Expansion
Bronx Museum of the Arts South Wing Expansion
Marvel is renovating the Bronx Museum to create a welcoming and accessible space. The new entrance establishes a strong connection between the public realm and the museum's interior. Inside, circulation is reimagined for a seamless flow between galleries. Sustainability is prioritized, with careful consideration given to glazing and energy performance. The redesigned entrance is a spacious, well-lit area that accommodates various activities and events. Working closely with cost estimator Ellana, we are proactively working to stay within budget and timeline. The renovation reflects community input and aims to create a vibrant cultural destination while preserving the museum's historic significance.
Our design approach focuses on improving the entryway and interior circulation to create a more welcoming and accessible space for visitors. By engaging in extensive outreach with museum stakeholders, we hope to ensure that the design reflects the needs and desires of the community.
The new entrance is relocated to a prominent corner, establishing a strong connection between the public realm and the museum's interior. Inside, we reimagine the circulation, creating a seamless flow from one gallery to another, enhancing the visitor experience and encouraging exploration.
Throughout the renovation process, we prioritize efficiency and sustainability. Careful consideration is given to glazing, seamlessly integrating with existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The modern envelope systems improve energy performance and reduce environmental impact.
