Reconciling infrastructure and public space is often the focus of our work. For the Times Square Alliance we developed a streetscape design that integrates the unique pedestrian experience in Times Square with a high volume of traffic, allowing the space to adapt to peak vehicle and peak pedestrian operation.

The existing street geometry, traffic patterns, and pedestrian volumes were studied to identify critical areas where additional pedestrian space was needed.

Additionally, low-tech strategies and technologies were developed to crate quality public space and experience that is seamlessly integrated with complex, heavily-trafficed infrastructure
